Audrey Hepburn
Audrey Hepburn (4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993) has to be one of my favourite actresses. She had an innocence that few other actresses of her generation and since, with the possible exception of Rosaleen Young, but in a different film medium could match.
In 1999 Hepburn was ranked as the third greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute, preceded by Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis
“The Nun’s Story” based on the 1956 novel by Kathryn Hulme shows a harsher side of being a nun, not the sickly image portrayed in “The Sound of Music” but neither does it have the brutality depicted in “The Magdalene Sisters”.
