My wife, bless her tells me that I am rapidly becoming, or perhaps that should read have become a “Grumpy old fart”, so what better forum to spread my doom, gloom and paranoia than WordPress. I also have a love of old pictures, postcards and Edwardian Actresses, in particular Miss Gabrielle Ray which I hope to share at regular intervals. As my collection has grown I have set up another blog which contains only pictures of Miss Ray. Gabrielle Ray Thank you for viewing and comments are welcome.

love these old pictures… pure bliss…
Glad you like them. I love the humour in the old cards.
oh totally, am a collector of old postcards as well, I only collect my old hometown but I always get a buzz going through old postcards at fairs, the new postcards nowadays are quite boring (man, now I sound old… :))
I agree there is something about old postcards, part of it is the social history and, and this sounds equally “old” the people especially women had an elegance and a “sexiness” that isn’t present in modern postcards. There is another irony in that when I first left school I worked for a printer and we produced postcards, although I wasn’t interested then. How times change.
