The Blue Bird
This is Maria Germanova portraying the witch in the play, The Blue Bird (L’Oiseau Bleu), as performed at the Moscow Art Theatre in 1908. It was later made into an opera, as well as into several movie versions – the most famous starring Shirley Temple in 1940 in a failed attempt to compete with The Wizard of Oz. Steampunk photoshopped his wife into the image Donna Germanova .
