Pauline Chase – The Bystander – 1906
Pauline Chase (Ellen Pauline Matthew Bliss) 20th May 1885, Washington DC (USA) – 15th March 1962, Tunbridge Wells (England).
In 1901 Pauline Chase scandalised American audiences when she appeared in a clinging pair of pink pyjamas as Kathleen Gay in “The Liberty Belles”.
She played one of the Lost Boys in the debut of Peter Pan in London in 1904. She was later selected by producer Charles Frohman and playwright J. M. Barrie for the title role, which she played from 1906–1913
