Miss Maude Fealy, Mr. Willard’s leading lady, who is familiar to Londoners as the heroine of Sherlock Holmes (presented by Mr. Gillette), has won the prize of 1,000 francs as the most beautiful woman out of 30,000 who entered for the competition, which was conducted by the Figaro Illustre.
