Grumpy old fart!!!

"If you talk to God you're religious. If God talks to you, you're psychotic."

I recently came across this lovely picture of an Edwardian beauty, at first glance it looked like many others of that era until I noticed her braided hair coiled over her ears and was instantly reminded of my primary school teacher from 50+ years ago, well there were two sister both Miss Pye, even with the rose tinted haze of time they were never this lovely but none the less memorable teachers. The school was Great Chesterford C of E Primary School and judging by the picture I found the exterior hasn’t changed that much, I wonder whether they still have the outside toilets? 😉

  1. Nice looking school! And perhaps it’s a good thing your teachers weren’t this pretty. Lol

  2. The models name, it may interest you to know, was Jeanne Juilla. She was Miss France in the Miss Universe Pageant in 1931, so she’s hardly Edwardian. She was one of the most prolific postcard models in Paris in the 1930s. She is often to be seen with elaborately braided hair, though this style is not her usual one.
