My wife, bless her tells me that I am rapidly becoming, or perhaps that should read have become a “Grumpy old fart”, so what better forum to spread my doom, gloom and paranoia than WordPress. I also have a love of old pictures, postcards and Edwardian Actresses, in particular Miss Gabrielle Ray which I hope to share at regular intervals. Grumpy old fart!!! 
The model is called Fernande. She worked for Jean Agelou, as in this card, and other photographers in Paris before WWII. Her name is only known because of a stamp that occurs on the back of a single card. She probably used that card as an advertisement for her work as a prostitute. She looks nothing at all like Anna Mae Wathall.
That’s what happens when I’m in a rush, I thought she looked familiar but a friend posted it to me, thank you for the correction.
