Merely Mary Ann was originally written by Israel Zangwill and published 1893. It was perfortmed at the Duk of York’s Theatre from Thursday 8th September 1904 until Monday 12th December 1904

Eleanor Robson Belmont

Eleanor Robson Belmont (13th December 1879 – 24th October1979) was an English actress and prominent public figure in the United States. George Bernard Shaw wrote “Major Barbara” for her, but contractual problems prevented her from playing the role.

 Miss Robson played the part of Mary in “Merely Mary Ann” in 1907
