Treasures – 1943
A few years ago Mother sadly died and whilst sorting out her “estate” I found the following items, Dad had sent them to Nanna, tourist items, mother of pear covered, produced in their hundreds, if not thousands but nevertheless priceless, Nanna always said that the Last Supper only came wrapped in a few sheets of wrapping without any damage and so maintained that she was meant to have them. No doubt, they were treasured by her, knowing that her son was alive and well during the Second World War. I have fond memories of seeing them on her sideboard as a child. There must be an irony that I’m the custodian of these Christian items especially as I’m a Muslim, hopefully Mum, Dad, Grandad and Nanna are have a good laugh
