Fairlight, Hastings – 1919
The message on the reverse is “Xmas, 1919, Fairlight, Hastings. From Richard” It looks like a Christmas fancy dress party
Thanks to Google Fairlight was a Sanatorium which stood to the north of the junction between Rye Road and Old London Road, Ore.
Now known as Barrington House, the building first opened as a convalescent home in 1905, and in 1909 it became Fairlight Sanatorium for the treatment of consumption (tuberculosis), taking twenty-five patients.
The sanatorium closed in 1957 and the building reopened in 1959 as Barrington House Rest Home. Much of the land belonging to the former sanatorium was sold for house building.
